A641 BCN was a 1984 9.5m MCW Mk11 Metrobus with a Gardner 6LXB engine and as yet unmodified externally. It had some body work damage and still painted red. The inside had been boarded out for use as “online gambling casino” using PC’s and LCD screens. The original casino terminals would have to be removed, dis-assembled and re-use the front and sloping top. The fronts are to be fitted on the wall to cover up the T20 thin clients and the tops fixed horizontally to place keyboards on. The LCD screens would be fitted to the wall above each position.
Whilst searching the web for Leyland Olympian information, I discovered some other Double Decker’s that have been converted for various uses. (see photo gallery) Before starting on our project I visited Monks Path School Bristol to have a look at their bus being used as a language training suite. This proved very useful as they have done a very similar conversion. The finish is excellent inside and out. They even have an awning, though not as big as ours, boasting again.
